Why Does CNN Keep Beck On?
I really don't like Beck. He's a bigot and an idiot. Anything I associate with Beck has a negative connotation such as Apples to Apples (he advertises for it almost constantly). So when I came across this today, it made me laugh. Here are the ratings of the major cable news channels during the prime time hours. Surprisingly, people actually watch the crap they put on MSNBC at 10 and 11pm.

More Brennan Pictures
I uploaded more pictures of Brennan from Saturday and Monday. Each day's pictures are in their own album in the photo gallery.
Sadly, we never see his eyes open (he was always sleeping when we visited). He also looks so much like his brother did.

Brennan's Real Birthday
So today my sister, Melissa, gave birth to her second son Brennan Matthew Rolater. She was scheduled for a c-section around 3 but the doctor had to go take care of another emergency, so the delivery got pushed back a bit. My parents, Christopher, Charles' dad, his dad's wife and I waited outside the delivery area till about 6:00 when Charles and Brennan finally came out of the area and made their way to the nursery.
Christopher was really excited to see his brother as was everyone else. There are pictures in a new album in the photo gallery of our waiting followed by some pictures of the little guy. I also added some pictures taken by my mother using her really nice camera at the end of the album (including the one seen here).
Brennan weighed 6lbs 14oz and looked really good. Tomorrow my parents, Christopher and I will stop by in the morning and see how everyone is doing. Then we will head up north for a couple of days to give my sister and Charles a well deserved break.

Countdown's Nexus of Terror Report
Earlier this week, Keith Olbermann's Countdown updated a segment from a couple years ago on the timing of the Bush administration's timings of terror alerts and bad plublicity. Isn't it amazing how all of these occur just a few days after news of the administration's impropriety are revealed?
You can download the segments in two parts here:Part 1 & Part 2

The Important Comey Testimony from this Week
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any video of record online where one can view the full testimony from James Comey infront of the full Senate Judiciary Committee on the 15th. Usually C-SPAN has these on their site but for some reason this committee hearing didn't make it. An even more unfortunate thing is that some news organizations such as CBS and ABC haven't even mentioned this on their television news programs. It then raises the question as to what one should call 'news organizations' that fail to report the news. This is just more evidence of the lack of ethics held by the current attorney general. And for those of you who don't know, Andrew Card is the former chief of staff of the president.

Done for the Semester
I had my last final yesterday and it was in Stellar Interiors. I felt like I did pretty good on it, but who knows for sure. Today I start training at SWIFT on how to make the daily planning schedule for the satellite's observations. I'm scheduled to train on it for two weeks. It can be a very tedious job at times and could take a long time to do every day. I just hope it isn't as bad as I fear.

New Pictures of Riley Uploaded
A new photo album has been added to the photo gallery. Included are pictures of Riley from today (taken about an hour ago) as he was playing ball and sniffing things. He got hot really fast so we weren't out that long, but I was still able to take a couple dozen pics.

Last Night's 24
I just watched last night's episode of 24 and was pretty bored by it. Nothing surprising happened and from about 10 minutes in you knew what the next major story line twist was going to be. It is almost as if the writers feel that if they can make a twist, they have to which instead of making the plot interesting and exciting, it just makes me yawn. Instead of letting plot develop, they seem to prolong things just for the shear fact that the writers have run out of new ideas. How many times has a nuclear bomb been a threat in 24?
Last year the show finally won acclaim for a par performance by all involved. It wasn't because the show was any better than previous years (days), it was just that it got more media attention and the effect just snowballed (I hate bandwagons). So now it seems that they have a formula that they are staying with instead of evolving the show.
Let's see nuke + muslims + vice president wanting the job + palmer pres = season 6... oh wait, that was season 2 too! This season is just a season 2 rip-off and is sickening. The only reason they now have this additional storyline change with Audrey is because they beat the whole nuke thing to death. There should be different parts to a 24 season to make it exciting instead of dragging things on. This season they pretty much stayed with the same major players for the first 18 episodes of a season which again is boring. There haven't been any side storylines for quite awhile. These are what give the good seasons their character! They bring in so much more depth when these secondary storylines are weaved into the fold and somehow intersect with the ones major plotlines.
Basically I'm just ready for season/day 7. I kind of wish they hadn't already made a deal for a 24 movie (yeah, sounds pretty ridiculous) or signed-on to produce through season 8. At least then I could still be semi-surprised when Jack doesn't die, the City of Angels is still standing, anarchy doesn't sweep the nation, and world war three is averted.

Not a Fan... But He's Got a Point
Ok, I'm not an Imus fan and if I ever watch his show, it's because sometimes it is the only thing on in the morning. But this is a really good excerpt from his show and had to share it with all of you.
